I realize that it’s been well over a month since the last time I posted to my morning memo. I have been wrestling with developing my production process, and that has taken me a lot longer than I originally anticipated. Even though I needed the time to develop my main blog posts and a workflow that goes with them, I had hoped that I could continue these memos on a fairly regular basis. I have not been able to accomplish that.

I intend to use these morning memos as a way to warm up. As some of you might know I’m using dictating software to create this text. I have used it off and on for several years, but I need to become more consistent. I think I’m like a lot of people in that I don’t think in complete sentences. To dictate efficiently one needs to think and speak in complete sentences. These memos will give me a chance to practice that skill on a regular basis.

In addition to giving me an opportunity to practice my dictation, these memos will give me the opportunity to comment on the multitude of problems that exist in our society today. It’s easy to get distracted by the political noise and the ridiculous behavior of people like college students and “intellectuals.” Those are not the things on which I want to concentrate in most of my writing but occasionally I have the need to make a comment just to get those thoughts out of my head. It’s easy to get distracted by this cartoon world that we seem to be living in today.

I hope to continue these memos on a fairly regular basis from here on out. For those who read and subscribed to my regular blogs I will get those back online at the beginning of next week. Look for my first post in which I will give a brief summary of the direction that I wish to take in the future.
